Un Bug est apparu suite a la mise a jour 10.5.8, la perte de connection Wifi (Problème de Maj avec la Carte Airport Broadcom). Mais cette technique reste tout aussi valable pour les autres versions.
Pour réparer temporairement le problème jusqu’à la prochaine mise à jour (Dispo ici), voici un petit tuto trouver sur les différents forums Apple parlant de ce bug.
Le fichier Principal a remplacer est IO80211Family.kext.
J’ai testé ce Tuto et il fonctionne sans souci.
Je vous conseille donc évidemment de procéder à une sauvegarde avant de vous lancer dans des manips que vous ne maîtrisez pas.
- Téléchargez la combo 10.5.7 : Mac_OS_X_10_5_7_Combo_Update
- Téléchargez Pacifist et l’installer : http://www.charlessoft.com/
- Ouvrir la combo avec Pacifist
- Dans Pacifist, aller dans l’onglet ressource, et trouver le fichier payload. Extraire ce fichier, par exemple sur le bureau. (Les droits d’admin sont necessaires).
- Ouvrir le fichier payload extrait, avec Pacifist.
- Parcourir le fichier payload avec Pacifist, aller dans System/Library /Extensions.
- Trouvez le fichier IO80211Family.kext et l’installer directement via Pacifist. Faites une sauvegarde du fichier IO80211Family.kext d’origine (situé dans System/Library /Extensions de votre HDD).
- Faîtes un démarrage en safe boot : redémarrer, et maintenir la touche Majuscule appuyée juste après le « gong ». Une fois la session en safeboot ouverte, redémarrer.

To fix non officially the problem of wifi you can follow the below steps, for the Official Fix (it’s here.)
Main file to replace is IO80211Family.kext.
The below was tested by myself successfully.
Before any change, don’t forget to backup your data. Any change on your Mac remains risky!
- Download the combo verions 10.5.7 : Mac_OS_X_10_5_7_Combo_Update
- Download Pacifist and install : http://www.charlessoft.com/
- Open the combo update with Pacifist
- Within Pacifist, go to the ressource tab, and select the payload file. Extract it ce fichier, for exple on your desktop. (Admin rights are necessary).
- Open the payload extracted with Pacifist.
- Browse the payload, and go to System/Library /Extensions.
- Select the file IO80211Family.kext and install it via Pacifist. We recommand oyu to Backup the original IO80211Family.kext file (In System/Library /Extensions).
- Reboot in « safe boot » mode: Reboot, keeping the Shift pressed til you ear a « gong » sound. Once, you ar e in safe boot mode (it takes a long long time to reboot..) Just reboot once again.
